Runtime approx. 15 minutes, 35mm slides, slide projectors, programmable dissolve control and audio player, 2013.

Material Prolegomena is a slide projection developed from the research and production materials of an imagined narrative film called “Wildman.” Referring to a wide array of cultural artifacts and historical narratives, from mid-century movie posters and the Hollywood Star System to the notion of the author as shaman and the miracle of twin Sts. Cosmas and Damian, these materials emerge as a series of dispersed fragments, refabricated and photographed in situ. Arranged in sequence, the resulting images document the site of production suggesting at once the associative work of the filmmaker/researcher/spectator/artist and the constellated field of the missing film.
